Gareth Barry's first meeting with Martin O'Neill since criticising the manager in an unauthorised newspaper interview was "cordial and positive", according to the England international's agent.

Having returned to training on Wednesday after a two-week ban the Villa midfielder, accompanied by his agent, Alex Black, had talks with O'Neill yesterday to clear the air and seek a resolution to his protracted pursuit of a transfer to Liverpool.
