Real Madrid forward Robinho has said he wants to stay at the Spanish club despite interest from Chelsea. Speculation has been rife that the Brazilian is on his way to the Premier League, with Real pursuing Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo.
Robinho's agent, Wagner Ribeiro, claimed last week that Chelsea were winning the race to sign him in the face of a reported rival interest from United, and this morning Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon said that talks had been conducted with Real about the player. Robinho has previously expressed a desire to leave Madrid but today declared he was happy to stay in the Spanish capital. "I want to stay at Real Madrid for a long time," the 24-year-old told Marca newspaper. "I'm very happy and I want to continue. My head is calm, I want to have a good pre-season with Real Madrid and continue here."

Reports in Spain suggest Madrid are unwilling to part with Robinho unless they can strike a deal with United for Ronaldo.
