Leicester lock Martin Corry has been cited for an incident involving Ospreys hooker Richard Hibbard at the weekend.
Corry, the former England captain, will appear before an independent disciplinary committee after being cited following the 15-9 Heineken Cup Pool 3 defeat in Wales. The citing commissioner for the match, Denis Templeton, cited Corry for "an alleged strike/contact with the eye/eye area of Ospreys player Richard Hibbard (No 2) in contravention of Law 10.4 (a) and 10.4 (k)."
Leicester prop Julian White has escaped potential charges. After the match the Ospreys said a number of their players had marks around their eyes, with the club naming White as the culprit.
Corry retired from international rugby after the 2007 World Cup and has no great history of disciplinary trouble. If the offence is proven and treated as gouging, it can carry a ban of anything from 12 weeks up to a maximum of three years for very serious offences.
