Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who left his job at Cardiff City last September, has agreed a deal to assist the coach of his hometown club, Norway’s Kristiansund BK.

The former Manchester United striker has reportedly agreed to become the side’s “guest coach” once a week, working alongside the club’s manager, Ole Olsen.

Dagbladet quoted Solskjaer, 42, saying: “It’s just fun to be able to contribute a little,” while Olsen explained: “He was famous throughout his career. It’s clear he has something to teach us.”

The Kristiansund BK striker Torbjorn Agdestein admitted the players were feeling “star-struck” by the prospect of working with Solskjaer, who was born and raised in the city, and started his career with the local team Clausenengen FK.

Kristiansund BK, a club created in 2003 by a merger between Kristiansund FK and Clausenengen, are sixth in Norway’s first division.
