What a catch. Josh Jacobs, a running back, with one of the finest touchdown catches you will see. He has a defender all over him as he makes the grab and tumbles to the turf while just getting his feet down. Amazing.

TOUCHDOWN! Rams 14-17 Lions 6:12, 2nd quarter
Goff to St Brown for eight yards
Perfect play call. Detroit dial up the blitz beating screen pass to St Brown who is spinning and twirling past the Rams as he falls into the end zone to give the Lions the lead back. That is a touchdown each in about five minutes of clock. Thrilling.
Rams 14-10 Lions 7:41, 2nd quarter
Do we have a shootout? We might have a shootout. Goff waits for St Brown’s route to develop and the receiver just clings on to break off a 52-yard chunk play. The Lions are 13 yards from retaking the lead.

TOUCHDOWN! Rams 7-7 Lions 2:44, 1st quarter

It’s good! Seahawks 3-3 Colts 0:51, 1st quarter
J Myers 47 yard field goal
Rams 0-7 Lions 2:58, 1st quarter
LA going for it on 4th and 8 around midfield. So aggressive. And Stafford throws it to the best receiver in the NFL in contested catches. Puka Nacua comes down with a catch in traffic to convert for a 1st down. Colby Parkinson then takes it to the five-yard line on a 24-yard catch and run. Rams so close to levelling this one.

He runs it back 58 yards and the Lions are in the red zone. Next play Goff hits St Brown in the back of the end zone. The Rams were knocking on the door and in an instant are behind. Crazy.

Patriots 31-35 Bills 1:51, 4th quarter
Maye misses a throw on 3rd down. Are they going for it? Yes. 4th and 5. Maye holds on to it for an age and nothing opes up. He chucks it to no one. Joey Bosa makes the play by biding his time then pouncing to pressure Maye. Game very nearly over after the turnover on downs. New England’s defense need a huge play.

Patriots 31-35 Bills 5:08, 4th quarter
The air has completely escaped the balloon for New England. Hunter Henry drops one on 3rd down to bring out the punt team for the Patriots. It wasn’t the easiest of catches but you get the feeling the tight end had one eye on where he needed to get to for the 1st down. Pressure telling, possibly?
What a turnaround after the Bills were down 21-0. They take over with five minutes remaining.

Bills get a huge let off after a pass interference call on 3rd down. A run from Cook then moves Buffalo to about the 10-yard line. Well placed to retake the lead. This is end-to-end stuff! On the next play he scampers through the middle and home. They have the lead again! “What a game!” says Iron Eagle. Not wrong, Iron. Not wrong.

TOUCHDOWN! Jaguars 41-20 Jets 14:08, 4th quarter
I Davis rush for 24 yards
Eagles 31-0 Raiders, final score
The ugliest of beatdowns is at an end but the box score still isn’t pretty for the Eagles. Their O-line just is not the same as last season. Saquon Barkley finishes 78yards on 22 carries and a score, 3.5 yards per carry is pretty meh.

As it stands the Chiefs are going to be eliminated from the playoffs. Can you believe it?!
TOUCHDOWN! Patriots 24-28 Bills 10:03, 4th quarter
J Allen to D Knox for 14 yards
Buffalo have a Josh Allen rushing score chalked off for a hold but it matters very little. On the very next play Allen beats the zone defense with a deep pass to Knox. He waited an age in the pocket for the play to develop and it pays off big. What a comeback!!!

TOUCHDOWN! Bears 28-3 Browns 0:45, 3rd quarter
D Swift rush for 17 yards
Patriots 24-21 Bills 10:31, 4th quarter
Massive 3rd down for Buffalo. Two yards to make at midfield. Allen takes the snap, swings one out right to Ty Johnson but he comes up a yard short. They are going for it on 4th. Allen drops back a mile and slings it deep. It’s picked! Or is it?! Khalil Shakir is blocked off by Jones. The refs rule it a catch for the offense as it was seen to be a tied catch. PI is also called giving the Bills the ball in the red zone. Dalton Kincaid makes a catch on the following play and the Bills need five yards to take the lead.
TOUCHDOWN! Texans 30-14 Cardinals 0:33, 4th quarter

Patriots 24-21 Bills 0:51, 3rd quarter
Buffalo have a quick 3rd down on their 12-yard line. Allen drops back with seven yards to get. He finds a wide open Dalton Kincaid for 24 yards with an absolute bullet throw. Slack defending from New England.
TOUCHDOWN! Jaguars 38-13 Jets 7:01, 3rd quarter
T Lawrence to T Etienne for eight yards
Trevor is 18/27 for 259 yards and four touchdowns, no picks and a 137.2 QBR. Trevor’s on fire, New York Jets are terrified. Sorry.
Patriots 24-21 Bills 1:39, 3rd quarter
Tre’Davious White picks off Drake Maye on 3rd and forever. JJ Watt has a minor shocker on commentary as he says “It’s a punt.” As he thinks the pass is out of bounds then corrects to “It’s an arm punt, what we call an arm punt.” Good save, not! Buffalo with a shot at taking the lead for the first time.
TOUCHDOWN! Texans 30-7 Cardinals 4:35, 3rd quarter

And 3rd down is up again for New England. Four yards to move the chains. Maye takes the snap, drops back and eases one to Stefon Diggs who races just across midfield.
TOUCHDOWN! Eagles 31-0 Raiders 14:54, 4th quarter
J Hurts to AJ Brown for 27 yards
I think I can hear the Eagles fans singing, “can we play you every week?”. Perfect timing to face the Raiders as Philadelphia are cruising to a victory that snaps a three-game losing run.
Patriots 24-21 Bills 5:27, 3rd quarter
Josh Allen’s crew have just evaporated New England’s 21-0 lead in three possessions. MO-MENTUM.
TOUCHDOWN! Patriots 24-21 Bills 5:27, 3rd quarter
J Cook three-yard rush
Dalton Kincaid makes an excellent contested catch to put Buffalo two yards from home. Cook is stood up on the following rushing play. 3rd down. Cook rumbles to the goal line and sticks the ball out … does he not remember fumbling doing the exact same last week against the Bengals!?? He gets lucky and might have a touchdown as the Bills review the play. The commentators think he has it … and the referees agree. TOUCHDOWN!
Patriots 24-14 Bills 5:04, 3rd quarter
New England force a 3rd down of their own with Buffalo 13 yards from the end zone. Five yards to move the chain. Allen spins in the pocket and guns it through the end zone. Flags fly. Hold by the defense! Huge for Buffalo. 1st and Goal.

Big 3rd down for Buffalo’s defense. SACK! The pocket collapses on Maye and Matt Milano takes him down. Three and out for the Patriots. Buffalo will take over on offense at their 25-yard line. The comeback is ON!
Patriots 24-14 Bills 11:29, 3rd quarter
J Allen to D Knox for four yards
Rapid six-play scoring drive gives Buffalo some confidence. Some play action confuses New England and Allen has an easy short pass to Knox who walks in.
TOUCHDOWN! Jaguars 31-10 Jets 0:21, 2nd quarter
T Lawrence to T Etienne for 20 yards.
Hopefully you started all your Jaguars in fantasy.
Patriots 24-7 Bills 12:44, 3rd quarter
After three punts the Bills scored with their final possession of the half. They are on the ball again now at their 30-yard line. Allen keeps it after some play action but he is bottled up well short of the sticks. New England doing an excellent job keeping the QB in check. On 3rd and 3 he keeps it again but this time finds the edge on the left and picks up 19 yards and the 1st down!

Patriots 24-7 Bills, half-time
“It’s not gonna be easy,” says Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel regarding his team’s chances of beating the Bills from here.
Isn’t it? Looked pretty easy from here. New England’s defense are suffocating Buffalo. Not a single explosive play from one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL so far.
It’s GOOD! Patriots 24-7 Bills half-time
A Borregales 36-yard field goal
The Patriots go for it all on Buffalo’s 30-yard line and Mack Hollins just can’t hold on in the end zone. Great defense by Greg Rousseau to break it up. Weird stuff going on with the clock on the next play, it doesn’t start when the play goes off then starts when it stops. The Patriots got a 1st down meanwhile after a 11-yard run from Stevenson. Borregales boots it through with the last play off the half.
Patriots 21-7 Bills 0:23, 2nd quarter

Patriots take out a HUGE lead after Henderson’s punishing long run. The offensive line bulldoze the Bills leaving a huge gap to the right and he is home free. Did anyone have the Patriots down for a blowout win? Not me.
Chiefs 7-3 Chargers 10:17, 2nd quarter
Horrrible pick from Justin Herbert hands the Chiefs excellent field position. Herbert is taking a sack and decides to throw it sky high, wobbling straight into a defenders arms. KC in the red zone.

Patriots 0-0 Bills 12:31, 1st quarter
Early slice of luck for the Pats as they pick up 30 yards on a catch that definitely was not a catch. Kayshon Boutte catches a beautfilly thrown long pass but uses the ground to hold on to it. The refs completely miss it and New England rush to get the next play off. They are 1st and Goal now.
TOUCHDOWN! Texans 7-0 Cardinals 14:11, 1st quarter

Well that didn’t take long. Arizona’s defense pick up from the nightmare they had against the Rams last week. Collins collects a short pass and houses it just like that.
Patriots 0-0 Bills 15:00, 1st quarter
We are go! Let’s start with a focus on the big one in the early window. Buffalo boot it away as the snow flutters down at Foxborough. A first look at Drake Maye and company … next.
It is -12C at Soldier Field in Chicago. Brrrrr
The big injury news for today is Tee Higgins is out with concussion for the Bengals and a trio of QBs are out with Geno Smith for the Raiders, Tyrod Taylor for the Jets and Jayden Daniels for the Commanders all missing.
I believe the majority of fantasy players will be starting their playoffs today so how did we all get on in the regular season and are we confident of making the championship game?
I sneaked the No 1 seed in my dynasty league by one catch as it happens after Ladd McConkey’s singular grab against the Eagles on Monday night won me a pivotal matchup by 0.15 pts. Without it the Chattanooga Chinchillas would be duking it out tonight but thanks to Mr McConkey I am sitting pretty on a bye week. Fine margins.
A litter later we are playing with house money across five encounters from 3.25pm CST/4.25pm EST/9.25pm GMT (home teams listed first):
(11-2) Denver Broncos v Green Bay Packers (9-3-1)
(10-3) Los Angeles Rams v Detroit Lions (8-5)
(3-10) New Orleans Saints v Carolina Panthers (7-6)
(9-4) San Francisco 49ers v Tennessee Titans (2-11)
(10-3) Seattle Seahawks v Indianapolis Colts (8-5)
We have a heavyweight bout between Super Bowl contenders in Denver and Green Bay. The NFC leading Rams taking on a Lions team that need a huge upset on the road to keep themselves on the postseason bubble. Then there are the Carolina Panthers looking to take control of the NFC South with a win agains their rivals. And finally the soaring Seahawks are out to pour a bowl of freezing cold water on the ultimate heart-warming comeback story: Philip Rivers’ return to save the Colts. I can’t do the legend justice so enjoy his words on a shock return to the NFL …
“No Zoom! Let’s GO!”
Preamble
Hello football family, it is week 15 and what a treat the NFL has in store. It is quite simply the best early and late Sunday slates yet this year with heavy hitter after heavy hitter on the schedule. And we have the pleasure of being able to share every pick, every sack and hopefully even a few touchdowns together starting with eight matches at 12pm CST/1pm EST/6pm GMT (home teams listed first):
(9-4) Chicago Bears v Cleveland Browns (3-10)
(4-9) Cincinnati Bengals v Baltimore Ravens (6-7)
(8-5) Houston Texans v Arizona Cardinals (3-10)
(9-4) Jacksonville Jaguars v New York Jets (3-10)
(6-7) Kansas City Chiefs v Los Angeles Chargers (9-4)
(11-2) New England Patriots v Buffalo Bills (9-4)
(2-11) New York Giants v Washington Commanders (3-10)
(8-5) Philadelphia Eagles v Las Vegas Raiders (2-11)
The pick of this litter is New England v Buffalo. The Patriots can wrap up the AFC East with a win and keep pressure on Denver for the No 1 seed while Buffalo could still claim the division crown from the Pats if they win today. A real prove it game for hot shot QB Drake Maye going up against the reigning MVP Josh Allen. You can read more about the keys to victory here …
Elsewhere, Kansas City are playing for their postseason lives against their AFC West rival LA Chargers. Baltimore need a big bounce back against Cincinnati’s explosive offense to avoid slipping further in the AFC North and Philadelphia, up against Las Vegas, will be desperately seeking some life on offense to avoid their season unravelling and a fourth defeat in succession. Then there are the Texans, Jaguars and Bears out to keep chugging along to January football with a quiet, composed victory against a weak opponent. Maybe there’s a bump in the road speeding into view? Let’s find out.
