Leicester's wing Alesana Tuilagi has been suspended for a week after an internal disciplinary hearing following an incident involving Nick Abendanon during the Heineken Cup tie against Bath.
Club officials reviewed the incident which led to Tuilagi's citing for an alleged tackle without the ball on Abendanon during the quarter-final victory.
A club statement read: "Alesana Tuilagi accepted his guilt of the offence. He has been banned by the club for seven days and has consequently been withdrawn from playing in the Guinness Premiership against Saracens this weekend."
Tuilagi is due to appear before an independent disciplinary committee as a result of the citing. The date and venue of the hearing are yet to be confirmed.
