Jimmy White made breaks of 93, 70 and 50 in defeating Nigel Bond 5-2 in Prestatyn last night to qualify for the final stages of the China Open.

White had failed to reach the final stages of the season's first five ranking tournaments and was 56th in the provisional rankings before his 5-1 victory over Andrew Norman on Thursday.

The 44-year-old will face Stephen Lee, the Welsh Open champion, in the first round in Beijing on March 25.
