The Bristol centre Rob Higgitt ran in a hat-trick of tries as his side won 30-13 yesterday, condemning Leeds to their 14th defeat from 15 Premiership games this season. Bristol overturned a 13-6 half-time deficit to gain a bonus-point victory at Headingley Carnegie. With Leeds sliding closer to relegation, their fellow strugglers Worcester upset Leicester on Saturday, with the Warriors' director of rugby Mike Ruddock saluting his team's second-half display in the 23-19 win at Sixways. "It was a poor start for us and a tough end when it could have slipped away, but in between we were the better side," he said. Bath took advantage of the Tigers' defeat to go second, Olly Barkley providing four penalties and a conversion in their 23-11 defeat of Newcastle at the Rec.
