The Rugby Football Union has banned the England prop Julian White for two weeks after he punched an opponent while playing for Leicester. White hit one of his England team-mates, Andrew Sheridan, in Leicester's 37-31 win over Sale last Saturday.

He is banned until 20 April, and will miss the Tigers' Heineken Cup quarter-final against Bath on Saturday as well as their penultimate regular season Guinness Premiership match at Saracens. However, White will be available for Leicester's probable Premiership title push through the play-offs and the Heineken Cup semi-finals next month. The Tigers are currently top of the Premiership table on 62 points.
