Saracens have signed the former Wales Under-21 prop Rhys Gill from Cardiff Blues.

The 22-year-old loosehead makes the move to the Guinness Premiership having been scouted by the Saracens coach Cobus Visagie as a powerful set-piece performer.

"Rhys is a strong scrummager, who has proved his worth with several outstanding performances recently," Brendan Venter, the director of rugby, said.

"Cobus Visagie has identified his talent, and we are confident Rhys will play his part at Saracens next season."
