ENGLAND
15 BEN FODEN Not too many chances to make his trademark counterattacking runs, but he took his try well before being substituted by Delon Armitage. 7
14 CHRIS ASHTON Celebrated the second try of his hat-trick with a swallow dive and revelled in England's fluid game. Showed a real hunger to get his hands on the ball. 8
13 MANU TUILAGI Tuilagi had lots of opportunities for bulldozing runs. A major hand in Foden's try and scored himself on the hour. Made life torrid for Romanians. 8
12 MIKE TINDALL Showed commitment by scrambling back to prevent a last-minute score and was excellent defensively, but the only back not on the score sheet. 6
11 MARK CUETO A hat-trick of tries in 12 minutes on his return is not a bad way to change the subject when asked about the try that never was in the 2007 final. 8
10 JONNY WILKINSON Ran the ball from deep when he could and erased the memories of display against Argentina, but disappointingly substituted at the break. 7
9 BEN YOUNGS Brilliant try and interchange with Tuilagi for a try from the kick-off after the break. The Leicester No9 was back to his sniping best. 8
1 ALEX CORBISIERO Solid display to suggest he can be Andrew Sheridan's permanent successor, but, worryingly, aggravated a calf injury in the second half. 7
2 STEVE THOMPSON He has now wrestled the hooker's starting place from Dylan Hartley. In a dominant display, showed his handling skills in Ashton's final try. 8
3 DAN COLEThe Leicester tighthead gave another commanding display in anchoring a solid scrum before being replaced by David Wilson after the break. 7
4 LOUIS DEACON The lock helped establish England's dominance in the set pieces and the suspended Courtney Lawes may struggle to regain his place. 7
5 TOM PALMER Palmer is regaining his Six Nations form and gave a tireless display in providing the platform for England's backs to cut loose. 8
6 TOM CROFT Strange perhaps to make him man of the match when hat-tricks were plundered but the only forward to score a try was outstanding. 9
7 LEWIS MOODY (capt) It would be heartening if England's captain could be allowed to complete a match. Committed as ever, though, in scrambling for any loose ball. 7
8 JAMES HASKELL His control at the base of the scrum was much improved and he worked tirelessly. He may keep the injured Nick Easter on the sidelines. 8
Replacements:
Mears (Thompson 50) Helped maintain England's dominance of the lineout 6
Wilson (Cole ht) Did well in an unaccustomed loosehead role 6
Shaw (Deacon 58) England's oldest ever World Cup player was his usual forceful self 6
Wood (Moody 61) Good lineout work 6
Wigglesworth (Youngs 61) Added extra zip 6
Flood (Wilkinson ht) Impressive second half to keep England on front foot 7
Armitage (Foden 51 ) Unlucky not to score a try and will push Foden for a starting spot 6
Referee: Romain Poite (Fr) Unobtrusive and even-handed, the Frenchman laid down the law with England early on and let the game flow 7
