A young Gloucester side went second in the Guinness Premiership with a five-try 39-10 victory over the bottom side Bristol in their West Country derby at Kingsholm. The hosts, missing six players on international duty, scored tries through Olly Morgan, Peter Buxton (two), Alex Brown and Ryan Lamb in a one-sided romp with David Lemi crossing for Bristol.
Gloucester head coach Dean Ryan said: "Three or four have taken their chance and made it difficult for [the internationals] when they come back."
At Sixways, Worcester built on last week's impressive win at Sale by defeating a combative Newcastle side 26-11. The former Australia full-back Chris Latham and All Black centre Sam Tuitupou scored Worcester's tries but an error-ridden match came to life only in the last 10 minutes and Danny Williams scored a late try for Newcastle.
