England scrum-half Kyran Bracken has signed a new four-year contract with Saracens - after admitting he turned down more money to move elsewhere.

The 30-year-old has always insisted he had no wish to leave the Vicarage Road club, even if they had been relegated into the National League.

Sarries had just about avoided that fate before the English Rugby Board decided Rotherham would not be promoted to the top flight.

With the likes of Scott Murray and Abdel Benazzi leaving Saracens this summer, Bracken's arrival has come as a timely lift.

French prop Christian Califano is also set to confirm his arrival at the club next week, when Leicester fly-half Andy Goode should be unveiled as Sarries' latest capture.

"I live and breathe Saracens and could never really contemplate playing elsewhere," said Bracken. "There has been more money on offer from other clubs but this is where I belong. I'm confident that I will still be playing the same quality rugby in four years time but I'm just focused on next season.

"We are building a strong team and I'm quite excited at the prospect of playing behind a powerful pack in September."
