Watford have announced the signing of the 19-year-old striker Obbi Oularé from Club Brugge on a five-year contract to add another attacking option to a team who have scored two goals in their opening four league games.

The forward is another to have come through the productive academy at Lille, where Eden Hazard and Divock Origi are among recent alumni.

The Belgian Under-21 international, who is about 6ft 5in, scored seven goals in 30 appearances in all competitions for Club Brugge last season.

A club statement read: “Watford are delighted to announce the signing of striker Obbi Oularé on a five-year permanent deal. The 19-year-old joins from Belgian Pro League side Club Brugge and adds further attacking options for the Hornets’ 2015/16 Barclays Premier League campaign.”

The Italian centre-back Gabriele Angella, who played a significant role in Watford’s promotion to the Premier League but has since lost his place, has agreed to join QPR until the end of the season.

The Mexican midfielder Miguel Layún has also been allowed to go on loan, joining Porto for the rest of the campaign.
