Jose Mourinho leaves his London homePhotograph: Jack Taylor/Getty Images In 1992 José Mourinho was initially hired by Sporting Clube de Portugal to act as interpreter to new manager Sir Bobby Robson. His role soon expanded into coaching and the pair moved to FC Porto in 1993. With Robson as coach and Mourinho as his assistant Porto went on to dominate Portuguese football in the following years - winning the 1993–94 Taça de Portugal, the 1994–95 and 1995–96 Portuguese championship, the 1994, 1995 and 1996 Portuguese Super Cup. He let Mourinho develop his own independent coaching style and entrusted him with the coaching duties of FC Barcelona B.
