Full time: Arsenal 4-1 Aston Villa. Reaction with Scott Murray:

Match report: Burnley 1-3 Newcastle (Will Unwin)

Full time: Manchester United 1-1 Wolves

It’s all over. Boos at full time from the home crowd. Wolves leave Old Trafford with just their third point of the season. After battling defeats at Arsenal and Liverpool recently, Rob Edwards will be hugely pleased with a reward for their efforts tonight. Ruben Amorim, meanwhile, will have plenty of questions to answer. Joshua Zirkzee’s deflected strike was cancelled out by Ladislav Krejci’s header just before half-time.

Updated

The corner doesn’t beat the first man. What a waste.

Wolves send on Møller Wolfe before the corner. This could be the last act … we’ve played 95 minutes.

Mosquera heads a Manchester United corner behind for another. Jack Fletcher then lashes a shot well off target. Wolves have a corner of their own …

Updated

We’ve played the first two of five (possibly six now) added minutes at Old Trafford.

Updated

Dorgu has the ball in the net! Sesko’s shot is saved by Sá and Boxing Day’s matchwinner follows up but he’s offside and it won’t count. His celebrations are cut short.

Fer López comes on for Hwang Hee-chan. There are two minutes plus stoppage time remaining at Old Trafford. Still 1-1.

Match report: Chelsea 2-2 Bournemouth (Jacob Steinberg)

Motherwell 2-0 Celtic is a full-time score in Scotland, Wilfried Nancy’s side missing the chance to go level on points with leaders Hearts.

Rob Edwards has his head in his hands after perhaps the most obvious foul throw from João Gomes, who was shaping up to launch into the box but went short. Sá catches a Sesko header up the other end.

Updated

Man United living dangerously! Tchatchoua flies away on a break down the right and lays the ball back on the edge of the box. Arias runs on to it and his shot takes a knick off a United defender and goes agonisingly wide. Wolves fancy this!

Updated

Match report: West Ham 2-2 Brighton (Ben Bloom)

Arsenal are 3-0 up against Aston Villa. Follow live with Scott Murray:

Boos from the home crowd as Ruben Amorim brings Leny Yoro and 17-year-old Bendito Mantato on for Ayden Heaven and Manuel Ugarte.

“Attack, attack, attack!” is doing the rounds at Old Trafford. Dorgu and Shaw think they’ve forced another United corner but the referee says goal-kick.

Scottish Premiership full times

  • Dundee 2-1 Kilmarnock

  • Hibs 2-0 Aberdeen

  • Livingston 1-3 Dundee Utd

  • Rangers 2-1 St Mirren

  • Motherwell 2-0 Celtic (latest score)

Nervy moments for Wolves! Sá flaps not once, not twice, but three times at a Manchester United corner. The final punch is the one that deals with it. Unconvincing to say the least.

Updated

Match report: Nottingham Forest 0-2 Everton (Ben Fisher)

Golden boot: Let’s see how those 7.30pm kick-offs have affected the Premier League scoring charts …

Afcon: Senegal and DR Congo have qualified for the last 16 after 3-0 wins over Benin and Botswana respectively in Group D. Benin also progress as a best third-place team. Gaël Kakuta was on the scoresheet twice for DR Congo – remember him?

Lammens heroics at Old Trafford! Doherty nods down a Wolves free-kick and Krejci drives it goalwards. Lammens gets down well to save and sticks a glove up just in time to prevent Mosquera touching in the rebound. Just over 25 minutes to go, 1-1.

Updated

Full time: West Ham 2-2 Brighton

A point apiece at the London Stadium. Jarrod Bowen gave West Ham a first-half lead before Brighton got two penalties in almost as many minutes. Danny Welbeck converted the first but his Panenka for the second came off the bar. Lucas Paquetá did score a penalty for the hosts before Joel Veltman levelled it on the hour.

Full time: Chelsea 2-2 Bournemouth

Chelsea’s late corners come to nothing. All the goals were in the first half in a seesaw draw. David Brooks gave Bournemouth the lead after six minutes before Cole Palmer’s penalty and Enzo Fernández’s fine finish turned it around. Justin Kluivert pounced on another long throw … and the second half was much less eventful.

Updated

Chelsea send a couple of hopeful balls into the box that Petrovic and then Senesi deal with. They have a corner …

Full time: Burnley 1-3 Newcastle

Goals from Joelinton, Yoane Wissa and Bruno Guimarães hand Newcastle an away win. Burnley were in it right until the end but leave with nothing.

Updated

GOAL! Burnley 1-3 Newcastle (Guimarães 90+3)

All over at Turf Moor! Ekdal and Dubravka make a mess of a ball in behind the Burnley defence and Guimarães lobs it back over the goalkeeper from 30 yards.

Updated

Full time: Nottingham Forest 0-2 Everton

James Garner and Thierno Barry hand David Moyes an impressive win against Sean Dyche’s side.

Brighton go close! Ayari plays a sharp one-two on the edge of the West Ham box and launches a shot that flies just wide of the near post. 2-2.

Ashley Barnes is on for Burnley! Exciting. Scott Parker would take a point, they trail 2-1.

Manchester United 1-1 Wolves is back under way at Old Trafford.

We’re into the last 10 minutes in each of the 7.30pm kick-offs. West Ham make a triple change. They need points plural, I would suggest. Still 2-2.

Updated

Big chance for Chelsea! The ball falls to Fernández in the penalty area after Neto’s cross in. He takes one touch and lifts it over the bar from about 12 yards out. Still 2-2.

Off the line! Newcastle come so close to a third. They keep a corner alive with a bit of head tennis and Burnley’s Humphreys heads it out from right under his crossbar after Thiaw had looped it over Dubravka.

Updated

“United have been woeful so far tonight,” writes Josh Keeling. “No intensity at all. Wolves are deservedly level. If United played with anything like the intensity they did against Bournemouth, they would blow Wolves away. It’s like they turned up expecting to win. Not good enough.”

Updated

GOAL! Nottingham Forest 0-2 Everton (Barry 79)

Garner is at the heart of it again for Everton. He spins away from Murillo in midfield and plays a wonderfully-weighted ball through for Barry to slot past John Victor! It’s his first away goal for the club.

Updated

Garner goes close for Everton! It’s a fizzing strike right across goal from the corner of the box but it just fades the wrong side of the far post.

Half-time: Manchester United 1-1 Wolves

Zirkzee and Krejci are the first-half goalscorers at Old Trafford. Wolves still looking for their first win of the season …

It’s also Arsenal 0-0 Aston Villa at half-time.

Updated

Jack Grealish is on for Everton at Nottingham Forest. It’s still 1-0 to David Moyes’s side.

GOAL! Manchester United 1-1 Wolves (Krejci 45)

Wolves have an equaliser at Old Trafford! Zirkzee flicks on a corner at the near post and Krejci heads it back from whence it came, finding the far corner.

Updated

Petrovic saves from Estêvão! It’s a brilliant save from the Bournemouth keeper to keep out the Chelsea teenager, getting down low to his right to stop a low effort from the edge of the box.

West Ham almost hit back straight away! Scarles’s free-kick is headed straight at Verbruggen by Bowen when you might have expected the skipper to score.

GOAL! West Ham 2-2 Brighton (Veltman 61)

The ball’s in the net in Stratford! Areola flaps at a Brighton corner and Veltman is there to turn it in at the back post. Areola wants a foul but he’s not got much of a case.

Updated

Sesko hits the post! Shaw’s corner is hung up towards the back post and the United striker hits the woodwork with his header. They lead Wolves 1-0.

Updated

Big save from Pope! Edwards is denied by the feet of the former Burnley keeper after another breakaway.

Chance for Chelsea! Palmer and Neto combine on the break and the latter’s cross is headed just over by Delap. Bournemouth had earlier calls for a penalty waved away after Gusto was adjudged not have handled the ball.

Updated

Scotland: Motherwell lead Celtic at half-time, with Rangers a goal up against St Mirren.

  • Dundee 0-1 Kilmarnock

  • Hibs 0-0 Aberdeen

  • Livingston 0-1 Dundee Utd

  • Rangers 1-0 St Mirren

  • Motherwell 1-0 Celtic

Updated

Chance for Burnley! Walker’s throw down the right finds Laurent and his cut-back is met by Tchaouna, whose low shot is held by Pope. Newcastle still lead 2-1.

Enzo Fernández is down after being on the end of a crunching, but fair, challenge from Bournemouth’s James Hill. He soldiers on.

GOAL! Manchester United 1-0 Wolves (Zirkzee 27)

United take the lead at Old Trafford! A smart turn on the edge of the box opens up some space for Joshua Zirkzee and his shot takes a deflection off Krejci and wrongfoots Sá in goal.

Updated

Bournemouth had more shots (14) than any visiting Premier League team in a first half at Stamford Bridge since records began in 2003.

Reece James is on for Chelsea at half-time. The action has resumed at the Bridge, 2-2 against Bournemouth.

“With lots of interest in wide forwards this transfer window, why isn’t there more speculation about Jarod Bowen,” wonders David Wall. “Perhaps he’s not as glamorous as other names but he’s consistently excellent and productive in terms of scoring or making chances (and this for a West Ham side without a decent centre forward to cross to). Imagine what he would do on the right for someone like Liverpool? He seems to have become the next James Ward-Prowse, linked with a move to one of the Champions’ League level clubs for a couple of summers but then never mentioned again as a serious target.”

Burnley 1-2 Newcastle and West Ham 2-1 Brighton are also back under way. Very important halves for both home teams.

Nottingham Forest 0-1 Everton has been back under way for a few minutes. There was only one added minute there in the first half.

Half-chance for Wolves. Arokodare’s air-kick means Hwang gets to take a swing at it and his shot flies not far over.

United are playing a curiously low line against the bottom team in the Premier League. Wolves are enjoying plenty of possession in the final third.

Updated

United almost go in front! Sesko traps the ball on the touchline, shakes off Doherty and sends a shot that whistles just wide of the far post. 0-0.

It’s times like these when I wonder how, on both my trips to the Vitality Stadium this season, I’ve watched Bournemouth draw 0-0. Including to Chelsea.

Manchester United appear to have reverted to a back five, with Dalot and Dorgu as wing-backs. Cunha, Zirkzee and Sesko is a pretty imposing frontline – in height as much as anything.

An intriguing encounter at Turf Moor, where it looked like Newcastle had the game done and dusted after seven minutes against a team who have picked up two points from a possible 27. But this Newcastle side is brittle and somehow let Burnley back into the match, struggling on the ball and inviting pressure from a shot shy side. Newcastle still have the edge but need to fortify their efforts after the break.

Half-time scores

  • Burnley 1-2 Newcastle

  • Chelsea 2-2 Bournemouth

  • Nottingham Forest 0-1 Everton

  • West Ham 2-1 Brighton

Goals galore!

Latest from 8.15pm kick-offs:

Updated

It’s half-time at the City Ground: Nottingham Forest 0-1 Everton.

GOAL! West Ham 2-1 Brighton (Paquetá 45+4pen)

It’s a stuttering run-up but cooly dispatched by the Brazilian. West Ham lead again!

Updated

Kick-off: Manchester United v Wolves

We’re under way in the later kick-off at Old Trafford.

Penalty to West Ham!

Michael Salisbury heads to the monitor. Dunk’s on the floor, legs splayed and arms outstretched. It’s not overly clear whether the ball hits hit chest, shoulder or arm. It’s given!

Updated

Another penalty shout at the London Stadium! Wilson’s shot is blocked at point-blank range by Dunk. It’s hard to tell from the replays but his arms are up and it might hit them … VAR are having a long look.

Off the line at Turf Moor! Broja’s shot is blocked and it comes back out to Edwards, whose low shot beats Pope but Schär is on the line to keep it out. Burnley so close to a leveller.

Updated

Palmer pulls off a lovely turn in midfield and feeds the ball to Estêvão on the right. The Brazilian comes inside and tees up Gusto but he shanks his shot and it goes no further than the D.

Welbeck's Panenka hits the bar!

It’s audacious from Danny Welbeck but, ultimately, rubbish. His Panenka spot-kick comes back off the bar and West Ham are furious! Mateus Fernandes was especially displeased with the cheek of it. He’s been booked for confronting Welbeck. Todibo and Areola have also had a few words.

Updated

Penalty to Brighton!

This is not a duplicate. West Ham have conceded another penalty! Paquetá wrestles Dunk to the floor at a corner and it’s another spot-kick. Welbeck to go again …

GOAL! West Ham 1-1 Brighton (Welbeck 32pen)

Welbeck makes no mistake, sending Areola the wrong way and finding the bottom left corner. It’s his 8th of the season.

Updated

Penalty to Brighton!

Max Kilman dives in on Yankuba Minteh and the referee points to the spot. Danny Welbeck will take …

Wissa misses a sitter at Turf Moor. He’s all alone at the back post at a corner and botches the header, sending it wide.

GOAL! Chelsea 2-2 Bournemouth (Kluivert 27)

Chelsea fail to deal with another long throw! Semenyo chucks it into the box, Chalobah gets his head on it at the near post and Kluivert evades his marker Garnacho to tap it in at the back post. All square again.

Updated

GOAL! Burnley 1-2 Newcastle (Laurent 23)

Burnley halve the deficit at Turf Moor. Ugochukwu lofts a ball into the Newcastle box, Broja flicks it on and Laurent finds the bottom corner with a fine volley. VAR is checking for offside … the goal stands!

Updated

GOAL! Chelsea 2-1 Bournemouth (Fernández 22)

Garnacho makes the right decision this time, laying the ball back for Enzo Fernández, who drops his shoulder to evade Alex Scott and lashes into the top corner. It’s an emphatic finish. Chelsea have turned it around!

Updated

The Matthew Harding Stand is not overly pleased as Alejandro Garnacho overruns it in the Bournemouth penalty area when he had options. It’s end-to-end at the Bridge. 1-1.

GOAL! Nottingham Forest 0-1 Everton (Garner 20)

We’ve got goals in every game! Everton lead at the City Ground as Dwight McNeil feeds a lovely ball into James Garner’s path and the midfielder’s shot is low across John Victor and into the back of the net.

Updated

GOAL! Chelsea 1-1 Bournemouth (Palmer 15pen)

Petrovic guesses the right way but Palmer’s penalty is low and has just enough pace on it! The former Chelsea keeper got a finger or two on it but not enough.

Updated

Penalty to Chelsea!

Sam Barrott heads to the monitor. Estêvão wriggles between Truffert and Semenyo and then appears to be knocked off his feet by the latter. There is contact … it’s a penalty!

Updated

Shouts for a penalty at Chelsea as Estêvão goes down under the challenge of Semenyo. The referee waves play on but there is a VAR check. It looks clumsy …

GOAL! West Ham 1-0 Brighton (Bowen 10)

A goal at the London Stadium too! Paquetá sends Bowen through the middle and the West Ham captain has the composure to slot it past Verbruggen on the run. A huge lift for Nuno.

Updated

GOAL! Burnley 0-2 Newcastle (Wissa 7)

It’s carnage in the Burnley penalty after Newcastle get in behind on the left. Wissa’s initial effort is cleared off the line by Walker but he prods it in at the second attempt!

Updated

GOAL! Chelsea 0-1 Bournemouth (Brooks 6)

Chelsea go behind! A Bournemouth long throw is flicked on by Evanilson and David Brooks heads it towards goal. Sánchez saves but a combination of Brooks and Evanilson squeeze it over the line from the rebound.

Updated

An early yellow card for Chelsea as Moisés Caicedo goes into the book for a trip on Álex Jiménez on a Bournemouth break.

GOAL! Burnley 0-1 Newcastle (Joelinton 2)

Newcastle strike first at Turf Moor! Anthony Gordon heads down the left, turns Kyle Walker inside out and sends in a cross that is wonderfully swept into the far corner from Joelinton on the volley.

Four games kick off

The whistles go around the grounds!

  • Chelsea 0-0 Bournemouth

  • Burnley 0-0 Newcastle

  • Nottingham Forest 0-0 Everton

  • West Ham 0-0 Brighton

Updated

“I’ve never been so tempted to skip watching the game and just wait for the highlights,” writes Everton fan Eric Peterson ahead of the Dyche reunion. That’s the spirit!

The teams are heading out for the 7.30pm kick-offs. I’ll have updates from all four games. It looks cold … everywhere.

Kai Havertz is back on the bench for Arsenal. Scott Murray has live updates from their crunch game against Aston Villa:

Team news: Zirkzee in for Mount

Starting lineups from Old Trafford:

Man Utd (4-4-2): Lammens; Dalot, Heaven, Martínez, Shaw; Dorgu, Casemiro, Ugarte, Cunha; Sesko, Zirkzee.
Subs: Bayindir, Fredericson, Malacia, Yoro, J Fletcher, L Fletcher, Lacey, Mantato, Obi.

Joshua Zirkzee replaces the injured Mason Mount in the only change from the win against Newcastle. The formation is anyone’s guess.

Wolves (3-4-2-1): Sá; Doherty, Mosquera, Krejci; Tchatchoua,
Arias, J Gomes, H Bueno; Mané, Hwang; Arokodare.
Subs: Johnstone, Møller Wolfe, Strand Larsen, Hoever, López, González, Olagunju, Ojinnaka, Sutherland.

Rob Edwards makes two changes from the defeat at Liverpool. Jørgen Strand Larsen remains on the bench – he was linked with a move to West Ham today.

Updated

“I can’t fathom why Semenyo is going to City,” writes Dean Kinsella. “My bet is he will become yet another attacking forward who will be encouraged to stay out wide and should he happen to beat his full back to turn around and pass the ball back to his midfield. All the dynamic flair having been sucked out of him, soon reduced to playing bit parts from the bench.”

Well, I’m not sure Pep Guardiola has coached the dynamic flair out of Jérémy Doku or Rayan Cherki yet.

Afcon: Nigeria have topped Group C, with Tunisia joining them in the last 16 as runners-up. Tanzania also progress as one of the best third-place teams. Uganda are out.

Full time results:

  • Tanzania 1-1 Tunisia

  • Uganda 1-3 Nigeria

Senegal, DR Congo and Benin can all finish top of their group in games that are just about to get under way.

Group D fixtures (tonight 7pm GMT):

  • Benin (3pts) v Senegal (4)

  • Botswana (0) v DR Congo (4)

Updated

Sean Dyche, up against his old team tonight, is speaking to TV pitchside ahead of kick-off. He says that David Moyes is doing a good job at Everton but reiterates that he doesn’t care about that tonight because he’s Nottingham Forest manager now and wants a result.

Dyche is still wearing his shorts. Having been at a motorway service station not far from Nottingham earlier today, I can confirm that this is some achievement. You can see his breath.

Updated

Team news at the City Ground:

Oleksandr Zinchenko for Nicolò Savona is the only change from Forest’s loss to Manchester City.

Everton (4-2-3-1): Pickford; Patterson, O’Brien, Tarkowski, Mykolenko; Iroegbunam, Garner; Dibling, Rohl, McNeil; Barry.
Subs: Travers, King, Beto, Grealish, Aznou, Welch, Campbell, Graham, Bates.

Updated

Team news: Wissa replaces Woltemade

Starting lineups at Turf Moor:

Burnley (3-4-3): Dubravka; Laurent, Ekdal, Estève; Walker, Luís,
Ugochukwu, Pires; Edwards, Broja, Tchaouna.
Subs: Weiss, Bruun Larsen, Anthony, Humphreys, Sonne, Ndayishimiye, Banel, Barnes, Pimlott.

Captain Josh Cullen is ruled out after suffering a knee injury against Everton. Scott Parker makes two other changes.

Newcastle (4-3-3): Pope; Miley, Thiaw, Schär, Hall; Tonali, Guimarães, Joelinton; Barnes, Wissa, Gordon.

Subs: Dennis, Araujo, Soler, Smith, Diakité, Adli, Kroupi, Unal, Rees-Dottin.
