Police arrested ten fans following disturbances surrounding Arsenal’s League Cup win over Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane on Wednesday.

Following the final whistle, a section of the travelling supporters in the corner of the South Stand ripped down hoardings featuring Tottenham club slogans, with police and stewards forced to intervene. There were also reports of clashes between rival fans outside the stadium.

Police said the total of ten arrests were made for offences including assault and criminal damage.

Arsenal are aware of the incident and say they will work with Tottenham and the authorities in an attempt to identify the people responsible, which could involve the use of footage from broadcasters as well as any club surveillance videos.

The Football Association told the BBC the matter was a criminal issue and the clubs will not face FA charges.
