The final day of the group stage is upon us. After today, 72 matches will have been played at the 2026 World Cup and only 16 teams will have been eliminated. That’s a lot of squeeze for not a lot of juice.
Nevertheless, there are still things to be settled. Such as the final outcome of Group L, where Croatia, England and Ghana are all scrapping for position before the knockout rounds. Portugal also need a win over Colombia to secure top spot in Group K.
Meanwhile, Algeria and Austria face off in Kansas City in a match that will go a long way to determining whether or not their campaigns will extend beyond the group stage.
Here is your complete guide on how to watch today’s World Cup games, including kick-off times, broadcast networks and online streaming options.

What to watch for
Croatia have yet to find top gear at this World Cup. After suffering a 4-2 defeat to England in their opening game, the 2018 finalists were somewhat fortunate to beat Panama 1-0 in a match that exposed some of the weaknesses in Zlatko Dalić’s team. Luka Modric and Co may be fading as a tournament force.
Ghana, on the other hand, have been one of the surprise packages of this World Cup. Carlos Queiroz has quickly moulded the Black Stars in his own image despite only being hired in April, making Ghana much tougher to play against. Croatia will have a hard time breaking them down.
Player to watch: Martin Baturina, Croatia – While some of Croatia’s more experienced stars have struggled for top form, Baturina has shown why he is considered one of the country’s brightest hopes for the future in his No 10 role.

What to watch for
England may be all but through to the knockout rounds, but Thomas Tuchel’s team still have a point to prove after their goalless draw with Ghana. The Three Lions’ insipid performance brought back unwelcome memories of past major tournament failures and so a response is required against Panama.
Panama have already been eliminated after back-to-back defeats to Ghana and Croatia. However, Thomas Christiansen’s side have earned a lot of goodwill for the manner of their performances. They won’t sit back in their final game against England. Tuchel’s team must be alert.
Player to watch: Declan Rice, England – The one England player to come out of the Ghana draw with any sort of credit, Rice is key to the way Tuchel wants his team to create opportunities higher up the pitch.

What to watch for
In what could be the pick of the bunch in the final round of group-stage games, Colombia face Portugal to determine the top spot in Group K. Colombia only need a point to secure the more favourable route into the knockout rounds and have good reason to be optimistic about their chances.
Portugal, however, need three points to leapfrog Colombia into first place. Cristiano Ronaldo and Co found their groove in a dominant 5-0 win over Uzbekistan and must play with the same intensity and intent for another victory. Portugal certainly have the talent to be contenders.
Player to watch: Bruno Fernandes, Portugal – While Ronaldo hogged the headlines by bagging a brace against Uzbekistan, it was Fernandes who provided the service and took a grip of the game from his position in the midfield unit.

What to watch for
DR Congo’s narrow defeat to Colombia in their last outing means they need a win in their final group game against Uzbekistan to stand any realistic chance of making it through to the knockout rounds of a World Cup for the first time in their history. However, Saturday’s match could pose a tactical issue for the Leopards.
Sébastien Desabre’s side are normally set up to play on the break. That’s how they troubled Portugal in their opening fixture, but against Colombia in their next game DR Congo struggled to create much in possession. Uzbekistan will sit deep and try to frustrate the African outfit.
Player to watch: Yoane Wissa, DR Congo – The Newcastle forward’s output at this World Cup has been inconsistent, but he remains DR Congo’s best attacking threat. They need him in top form to make the knockout rounds.

What to watch for
Algeria’s comeback win over Jordan has given them a good chance of making it out of Group J. Another victory against Austria would see Vladimir Petković’s team secure second place which would be a remarkable success even if it would probably mean a last-32 meeting with Spain.
Ralf Rangnick’s high-energy style of play helped Austria to a comfortable win over Jordan in their opening World Cup fixture, but made them easy to play through in the loss to Argentina. The Europeans may be favoured to get the win they need to take second place in the group.
Player to watch: Ibrahim Maza, Algeria – The Bayer Leverkusen midfield creator has been Algeria’s driving force at this tournament and will be a difference-maker once again in the final group game against Austria.

What to watch for
Jordan are out of the World Cup and the omens ahead of their final game against Argentina aren’t exactly positive. Lionel Messi and Co have won two out of two without moving into top gear with the defending champions already certain of their place in the last 32 as group winners.
Lionel Scaloni could rest some of his best players before the knockout rounds although Messi may still feature from the start as he chases more records. Argentina are growing into the tournament and have already demonstrated their capacity for managing matches.
Player to watch: Lionel Messi, Argentina – The 39-year-old became the all-time top scorer in men’s World Cup history by scoring twice against Austria. Messi has peaked for another tournament and will take some stopping.
