TOUCHDOWN! Bears 7-20 Packers 13:10, 3rd quarter

OK what a three-play sequence from Green Bay.

First, Love tries to go long to Watson again up the left sideline but it is just out of reach. Watson is sure the Bears commit PI but the refs don’t give it.

Second, J.Michael Sturdivant scores a 43-yard touchdown on a deep throw from Love but he is dinged for a pass interference call after mashing his hand into the defender’s face just before the pass came.

And finally, Christian Watson grabs a 53-yard bomb right in the centre of the end zone near to going out of bounds. He goes up with a defender and grabs it off the Bear’s helmet and just plops down with the ball in his lap. Unbelievable.

Bears 7-14 Packers 13:33, 3rd quarter

Bizarre stop to the game as the officials don’t have any balls. Fairly crucial. When Jordan Love finally gets one in his hand he chucks it long for a 31-yard gain to Christian Watson. Green Bay are over midfield and then some.

Bears 7-14 Packers 14:55, 3rd quarter

Back in action at Lambeau with the Bears booting off to Green Bay. The Packers take over from close to their 30-yard line.

Half-time scores

  • Chicago Bears 7-14 Green Bay Packers

  • Cincinnati Bengals 21-7 Miami Dolphins

  • Las Vegas Raiders 7-21 New England Patriots

  • Minnesota Vikings 6-7 New Orleans Saints

  • Cleveland Browns 6-7 New York Jets

  • Indianapolis Colts 13-17 Pittsburgh Steelers

  • Houston Texans 12-3 Tennessee Titans

  • New York Giants 3-12 Washington Commanders

Some cream rising to the top in Cincinnati and New England taking out two-touchdown leads.

Bears 7-14 Packers, half-time

Naughty Green Bay get pulled up on an illegal substitution. Love is sacked for the second time on this set of downs. Strange but Packers fans are booing despite their team winning and doing so fairly comfortably.

SACK! Bears 7-14 Packers 0:39, 2nd quarter

Green Bay get an important sack of Tyson Bagent on 2nd down and on 3rd down Chicago dial up the long pass from close to their own end zone but it is no good. Chicago punt. Green Bay’s wasted possession after the Bears TD not so painful now. The Packers are across midfield with two timeouts.

Who fancies a little pre half-time score update?

  • Chicago Bears 7-14 Green Bay Packers

  • Cincinnati Bengals 14-7 Miami Dolphins

  • Las Vegas Raiders 7-14 New England Patriots

  • Minnesota Vikings 3-7 New Orleans Saints

  • Cleveland Browns 6-7 New York Jets

  • Indianapolis Colts 13-14 Pittsburgh Steelers

  • Houston Texans 9-3 Tennessee Titans

  • New York Giants 3-9 Washington Commanders

Every one is a one-score game at the moment. Not bad.

TOUCHDOWN! Bears 7-14 Packers 1:53, 2nd quarter

  • D Swift one yard rush

Bagent rumbles for a few then Swift is rocked on 2nd down. Chicago fake the hand off to Swift on 3rd. Bagent tries to find Rome Odunze but the catcher needs to grow a few inches to find the pass. On 4th Swift batters in. Game on in Lambeau!!!

Bears 0-14 Packers 3:09, 2nd quarter

Tyson Bagent channels his inner Russell Wilson and scrambles around in the backfield. In doing so the QB gets a critical holding penalty on Green Bay. The Bears are 1st and Goal.

TOUCHDOWN! Colts 13-14 Steelers 7:43, 2nd quarter

  • T Warren one yard rush

The tight end gets the shove over the line to draw Indianapolis within one point.

Bears 0-14 Packers 4:23, 2nd quarter

Chicago have twigged that maybe hiding the ball from their green quarterback might help. Swift keeps grinding down the field as Chicago make it inside Green Bay’s 20-yard line. Nice gains of nine and 12 from the running back have them eyeing an important score.

The report from what I am tentatively calling London’s greatest NFL game.

Bears 0-14 Packers 8:55, 2nd quarter

Chicago are back at the controls after a Green Bay punt. D’Andre Swift rushes for five but goes nowhere on 2nd down. Chicago stuff it back in his paws and he explodes up field for a nice 10-yard gain. The Bears are up to their 40-yard line.

The one-handed touchdown on 4th down from Parker Washinton that sparked the win for Jacksonville in London. Sublime.

Bears 0-14 Packers 13:14, 2nd quarter

The rough start for Chicago continues as they quickly go 3 and out. Three drives and 13 yards of total offense. Green Bay are on easy street.

TOUCHDOWN! Raiders 7-14 Patriots 1:31, 1st quarter

  • R Stevenson five yard rush

The big running back shoots straight through the heart of the Raiders and New England have the lead back.

TOUCHDOWN! Bears 0-14 Packers 14:56, 2nd quarter

  • M Lloyd six yard rush

1st and Goal for Green Bay. Jordan Love flips it to Skyy Moore but he can’t get far. On the restart of the 2nd quarter Green Bay don’t waste a second and MarShawn Lloyd smashes in to double their lead.

PICK! Bears 0-7 Packers 5:25, 1st quarter

In the big NFC North matchup Xavier McKinney picks off Tyson Bagent to put Green Bay on the ball at midfield. The ball gets flipped up in the air off a missed catch and McKinney says thank you very much.

TOUCHDOWN! Bengals 7-7 Dolphins 8:02, 1st quarter

  • O Gordon 1 yard rush

As do the Dolphins.

TOUCHDOWN! Raiders 7-7 Patriots 8:19, 1st quarter

  • K Cousins to B Bowers for 13 yards

The Raiders level it up in New England.

After all that drama some first-quarter scores from around the NFL:

  • Chicago Bears 0-7 Green Bay Packers

  • Cincinnati Bengals 7-0 Miami Dolphins

  • Las Vegas Raiders 0-7 New England Patriots

  • Minnesota Vikings 3-0 New Orleans Saints

  • Cleveland Browns 0-7 New York Jets

  • Indianapolis Colts 3-7 Pittsburgh Steelers

  • Houston Texans 0-3 Tennessee Titans

  • New York Giants 0-6 Washington Commander

What a ridiculous finish at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. That last-second victory gives Jacksonville a 4-1 record and Philadelphia slip to 2-3.

JAGS WIN!!!!

High drama in London as the returner gets the Jags into field goal range with a mazy run upfield leaving one second on the clock! Now they have a shot at the winner and Cam Little smokes the 57-yard field goal. Forget everything I said. The Jags win 19-17! Wow.

Updated

It's GOOD! Eagles 17-16 Jaguars 0:08, 4th quarter

Jake Elliott nails the 48 yard field goal to likely give Philadelphia a massive win in London! Huge injury problems navigated and a nice 3-2 record in the bag barring a hail mary from the Jags.

Updated

Eagles 14-16 Jaguars 0:21, 4th quarter

Eagles make it to field goal range but want a few more yards to ease the pressure on Jake Elliott. As Jalen Hurts tries to throw it away though he is inches away from throwing a toe-tap interception on the sideline. Head scratcher.

TOUCHDOWN! Bengals 7-0 Dolphins 14:03, 1st quarter

  • J Burrow to M Gesicki for four yards

TOUCHDOWN! Giants 0-6 Commanders 13:00, 1st quarter

  • J Croskey-Merritt 33 yard rush

Eagles 14-16 Jaguars 1:00, 4th quarter

Oops, on 2nd and 10 the Eagles false start. They bite back nine on a pass out to the right to Dontayvion Wicks. Wicks then grabs the 1st down. Around 12 yards to go for the game-winning field goal.

Meanwhile we are underway in the 6pm slate!

Eagles 14-16 Jaguars 1:35, 4th quarter

Philadelphia stop Jacksonville will ease after some poor playcalling. Still plenty of time for a game-winning field goal. A short kick has the Eagles starting on their 40-yard line.

SACK! Eagles 14-16 Jaguars 1:59, 4th quarter

The Jags get to Jalen Hurts for a huge loss of 10 yards. The Eagles need 20 on 3rd down but they settle for a punt and now need the defense to get a stop.

TOUCHDOWN! Eagles 14-16 Jaguars 3:20, 4th quarter

Jacksonville have a 3rd down here with about 25 to go to pay dirt. The pass is tipped with Trevor Lawrence awkwardly backpedalling after Philadelphia’s AJ Epenesa reads the play fake.

Awkward looking no more. On 4th down Lawrence uncorks a beauty into the end zone and Parker Washington makes an incredible one-handed grab while tumbling backwards and in for the score.

Sadly for the Jags they miss the extra point with a stand-in place holder. Eagles need a field goal for the win and have acres of clock to do it.

Eagles 14-10 Jaguars 5:27, 4th quarter

The Eagles go 3 and out and have to punt from their end zone. The Jags take over right on midfield.

Eagles 14-10 Jaguars 5:48, 4th quarter

Stat alert! Philadelphia have not scored in the second half of a game since week two. That explains why they are 2-2 then.

Eagles 14-10 Jaguars 6:33, 4th quarter

Meanwhile we have a game underway in London. And the Jaguars are having a hard time in the red zone against the Eagles. Two empty trips and they are knocking on the door now on 3rd and Goal but have just committed a second delay of game on this set of downs. The Eagles fans are deafening. The pass is short of the end zone and Philadelphia stop them.

The Jaguars go for it all for the lead. NO GOOD! Three red zone trips, zero touchdowns for the Jags. They were 1st and Goal at the one-yard line. Ouch.

The injury news around the NFL is Caleb Williams misses out for a third week for the Chicago Bears in a big boost for their rivals in the NFC North today. Elsewhere Justin Jefferson is back for Minnesota, Terry McLaurin returns for Washington and Cincinnati get a big lift with both Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase suiting up after injury problems in the week.
