In a move that has shocked absolutely nobody, Andy Robinson has been appointed as England's full-time head coach in succession to Sir Clive Woodward. Robinson, who took the reins as caretaker boss when Woodward resigned last month, saw his promotion to the top job rubber-stamped by Rugby Football Union chiefs today.

It follows 40-year-old Robinson's presentation to a five-man interview panel yesterday. He was the only realistic candidate, having spent the last four years as England assistant coach to Woodward.
