European client manager for the sports management company Athlete Management International, whose clients include Toby Flood, Wendell Sailor and Stephen Larkham
Career path
After leaving the University of Durham, I did a gap year teaching in Tonga where I met a lot of the national rugby union side. From that I established a number of contacts and they got hold of me after the 2003 World Cup and wanted to come over to the UK and France. So I ended up helping them out as a hobby and it turned into a full-time job.
First client
Johnny Tuamoheloa, a Tongan flanker who asked me to find him a club in the UK. He joined Bradford & Bingley and then Worcester, where he played 15 Premiership games, before moving to France.
Biggest names
Toby Flood, who recently made his England debut. Geoff Parling, who's the captain of Newcastle Falcons, and the Wasps flanker Tom Rees. We also represent the Australian captain, Sterling Mortlock, and Stephen Larkham.
Best day
When Toby Flood made his debut for England against Argentina four weeks ago. I've seen him develop from a Newcastle reserve player into an England international and hopefully he'll be a mainstay going into next year's World Cup.
Global reach
We're an Australian company based in Sydney but we've probably got 100-150 clients now in Europe. We look after players in New Zealand, South Africa, Japan, France, Italy, England, Ireland and Scotland.
Any other business
We've got an Australian boxer, the brother of the Australian rugby league player Willie Mason, for whom we're trying to organise some bouts in the UK next year.
