Ospreys sink claws in

To tilde

Sale will need to win their final three Heineken Cup matches, starting against Stade Français at Edgeley Park tomorrow, if they are to make the knock-out stage after the Ospreys gained their expected bonus-point victory over Calvisano at the Liberty Stadium last night. The replacement flanker Andy Lloyd scored the Ospreys' fourth try in a 26-9 win 15 minutes from time to put them level with Stade at the top of the pool on 14 points. Sale are eight adrift in third. London Irish are all but out of the competition after losing to Ulster 29-13 at Ravenhill last night. Paul Steinmetz's try with two minutes remaining gave Ulster a bonus point, while Irish finished with 13 men after Bob Casey and Delon Armitage were sent to the sin-bin. Wasps need five points at Treviso this afternoon to return to the top of pool one after being overtaken by Perpignan last night. The England prop Perry Freshwater was among the French team's try scorers in a 30-3 rout of Castres.
