Wales
Lee Byrne Full-back 6
Vying with Rob Kearney for the Lions No 15 shirt, he acquitted himself solidly in defence and attack before hobbling off on the half-hour mark.
Mark Jones Wing 7
Didn't have a lot of opportunity to show his colours in attack, but produced an outstanding defensive display.
Tom Shanklin Centre 7
Characteristic no-nonsense performance. Immensely strong with the ball in hand and solid in defence. Should be confident of a Lions trip.
Gavin Henson Centre 7
Marshalled Gordon D'Arcy well before switching to full-back after Byrne went off. Did a solid job and, like Shanklin, should be thinking of a summer in South Africa.
Shane Williams Wing 6
Like Mark Jones, one of his quieter games with the ball in hand and had little opportunity to add to his 46 Test tries. Still, a Lions certainty.
Stephen Jones Fly-half 8
Overall game management was decent, but was guilty of being turned over. Place-kicking was faultless, apart from long missed penalty with the last kick of the match
Mike Phillips Scrum-half 6
Service from the base of the scrum was mixed, but enjoyed a decent match. Decision-making was impressive and barnstorming late run paved way for Stephen Jones' drop goal.
Gethin Jenkins Prop 7
Strong scrummaging display against John Hayes and an excellent showing in the loose. Even produced what looked like a sidestep at one stage. Lions prospects looking healthy.
Matthew Rees Hooker 5
Suffered a difficult time on his own throw at the line-out, but showed some good industry in the loose before making way for Huw Bennett.
Adam Jones Prop 7
A vastly improved player in the loose and part of a Wales front row that got the upper hand in the tight before the break. Did chances of a Lions tour no harm.
Ian Gough Lock 5
Corking early tackle on Flannery typified his work rate. Like his cohorts, struggled in the line-out and was replaced just before the hour mark.
Alun-Wyn Jones Lock 5
Has made outstanding progress in the past year, but had to doff his cap to Paul O'Connell, who gave him a torrid time on the Wales throw. Didn't enhance his prospects of a starting berth in the Lions engine-room.
Dafydd Jones Flanker 6
A late call-up after Andy Powell withdrew with a thigh injury and produced a solid enough performance.
Martyn Williams Flanker 8
Another strong performance. Defence was outstanding and plenty of good foraging on the deck. Honours even with David Wallace.
Ryan Jones No8, capt 7
Switched from blindside to No8 after Powell cried off. Conceded silly early penalty by tripping O'Gara, but consistently smashed his way over the gain-line. Good tournament overall.

Rob Kearney Full-back 6
Has enjoyed an outstanding championship, though not at his best yesterday. Strong under the high ball and incisive in attack at times. Remains in the shake-up for the Lions.
Tommy Bowe Wing 8
Produced some excellent moments in attack, none more so than when he latched on to O'Gara's chip and scooted home a try. Solid in defence. A certainty for the Lions.
Brian O'Driscoll Centre, capt 10
What can one say? May have a lost a touch of pace, but has experienced a stellar tournament and still a strong candidate to captain the Lions. Marvellous body angle to score his try just after the break. Inspirational leadership proved decisive.
Gordon D'arcy Centre 7
Increasingly influential in midfield and defensively sound. Still not quite back to his best.
Luke Fitzgerald Wing 6
Not his best game. Didn't see a great deal of the ball, though didn't necessarily go looking for it either.
Ronan O'Gara Fly-half 6
A curate's egg of a performance summed up his championship. A decidedly ropey first period was followed by an improved second half. His chip kick created Bowe's try and his late drop goal that won a grand slam.
Tomas O'Leary Scrum-half 6
Possibly fortunate to get the nod over Peter Stringer and produced a mixed bag. Service was adequate, but too many unforced errors.
Marcus Horan Prop 6
Solid, though hardly spectacular. Gradually grew stronger in the tight after a tricky opening half.
Jerry Flannery Hooker 8
Restored to the starting line-up and enjoyed a decent evening's work. Reliable throwing at the line-out and enjoyed good moments in the open.
John Hayes Prop 5
Given a difficult time in the tight by Jenkins in the first period, but honours even after the interval.
Donnicha O'Callahan Lock 7
A typically robust showing, but too prone to get involved in business that didn't concern him. Line-out work was effective.
Paul O'Connell Lock 9
Probably a narrow favourite to pip O'Driscoll to the Lions captaincy. Produced another gargantuan performance. Superb on the Wales throw and plenty of graft.
Stephen Ferris Flanker 5
Little chance to make an impact before being forced to depart the fray.
David Wallace Flanker 8
One or two uncharacteristic errors in the first half, but increasingly dominant after the break. Definite Lions tourist.
Jamie Heaslip No8 6
Couldn't quite sustain his excellence of the early part of the championship. Conceded unnecessary penalty that allowed Wales to reduce gap to 14-12. Should be on plane to South Africa.
