Matija Nastasic has completed his loan move until the season’s end to Schalke, with the German club paying a €2m fee (£1.56m) plus the central defender’s €50,000-a-week wages.
“Schalke have now agreed with Manchester City the final details of a loan for Matija Nastasic subject to a medical,” a statement on Schalke’s website said. The Bundesliga club added that a purchase option had been agreed with City for the 21-year-old.
Nastasic has fallen out of favour under Manuel Pellegrini, the manager believing Dedryck Boyata is a better prospect as a central defender despite the Serb coming close to being City’s player of the season two years ago for Roberto Mancini.
