The Manchester City manager, Manuel Pellegrini, reiterates that his team can cope without the injured Sergio Agüero

Vincent Kompany is in Manchester City’s squad for Saturday’s trip to Leicester City after missing the past three games because of a hamstring injury.

The captain narrowly missed out on playing in Wednesday evening’s 2-0 win at Roma, after failing a late fitness test.

Looking forward to the Leicester game, Manuel Pellegrini said: “Kompany is in the squad list so I don’t think he will have any problem to play tomorrow.”

David Silva should also be available. “We will see tomorrow, he didn’t feel any pain in the knee from the 30 minutes [in Rome] so I think he will be fit,” the manager said.

Pellegrini stated last Friday that Joe Hart was going to sign a new deal by the following day but the goalkeeper is yet to do so. “I think it is close. Joe wants to stay here and we want him to be our goalkeeper,” the Chilean said.
