Right, that’s it from me. That was an action-packed clocko, lot of goals, lot of fun. thanks for following along.

Coventry climbed out of the relegation zone with a 3-1 win that leaves Sunderland rooted to the bottom of the Premier League.

Tatsuhiro Sakamoto’s first Premier League goal put Frank Lampard’s side ahead 17 minutes in, Taiwo Awoniyi’s first league goal for Coventry doubled the lead eight minutes before the break and Jack Rudoni sealed victory early in the second half.

Full report from the Sky Blues third win of the season:

Hull maintained their unbeaten home record but saw their winless run continue after Julio Enciso earned Ipswich a 2-2 draw at the MKM Stadium.

Full report from the MKM Stadium:

The Premier League action continues, Niall McVeigh is going minute-by-minute for Tottenham v Palace:

Accidents will happen. They also have consequences. Leeds were playing well, certainly better than Bournemouth for the first 30 minutes until James Trafford committed a grievous error. The goalkeeper made a horrible mess of a pass to an unwitting Ao Tanaka. In stole Justin Kluivert to set up Evanilson for a fifth goal in six matches. Where Leeds’ confidence sagged, Evanilson continued to find the best form of his time on the south coast.

The Brazilian was full of tricks, flicks and intelligent movement until he was subbed off. Thursday’s Prague assignment in the Europa League was being kept in mind. The continued rise of Bournemouth, celebrating a sixth successive win, is testament to changing times, a model club playing thoroughly modern football.

Read John Brewin’s report from the Vitality:

Nice moment for Lewis Dunk there on Sky Sports. The Brighton captain missed the penalty in midweek that saw City go through, now he gets a clean sheet to earn three points. He’s full of praise for bos Fabian Hurzeler, who Dunk says will go on to manage at the very top.

Poor Nottingham Forest. And, especially, poor Nikola Milenkovic. It would be unfair to say that Brentford fluked a win in the 100th Premier League game at the Getch Community Stadium but Forest had 15 shots to their six and have every right to wonder why luck has deserted them so absolutely this season. Only one of Brentford’s goals went down as an own-goal, but both went in after hefty deflections off Milenkovic. A sixth successive defeat for Forest in games played on Hallowe’en must have them wondering about curses and an inexplicable run of misfortune.

Jonathan Wilson was at the Gtech:

Updated

Manchester City have lost two consecutive league games but no alarm should be sounded. Enzo Maresca’s fast-passing unit that were defeated on Saturday because Yasin Ayari took one of Brighton’s rare chances, the 11th-minute winner deriving from what appeared a wrongly awarded free-kick for Elliot Anderson’s “foul” on the same player.

Fabian Hürzeler’s team can be proud of victory here – and of being third. They are worth the lofty position and who would bet against Champions League qualification for them?

Full-time: Coventry 3-1 Sunderland

The Black Cats are rock bottom and Cov are up to 15th.

Red card! Coventry 3-1 Sunderland (Alderete 90+9)

Terrible afternoon for Alderete, who deflected in Rudoni’s shot and now earns a second yellow.

Updated

Full-time: Hull 2-2 Ipswich

An entertaining draw MKM Stadium.

Full-time: Bournemouth 2-0 Leeds

Six wins in a row for the Cherries, they go ahead of Leeds in the table and up to seventh. In all that I missed Amine Adli’s late effort to make it 2-0.

Updated

Full-time: Manchester City 0-1 Brighton

Revenge for Brighton! Knocked out of the Carabao Cup at the Etihad in midweek, the Seagulls take all three points.

Updated

Full-time: Brentford 2-0 Nottingham Forest

Glasner under serious pressure after this one. Forest play City next.

League One table-toppers Salford have made it 2-1 against Exeter, Will Aimson with the late second for the home side. Remarkably, nine-man Rotherham have scored at Swindon but still trail 2-1.

Updated

Ooooo, it’s 2-2 at the Toughsheet Community Stadium where Sam Bell has levelled. Millwall are battering Derby, Jake Cooper has made it 4-0.

Will Lankshear has got his second of the afternoon for Boro, who now lead Charlton 3-0.

In League Two, Rotherham are down to nine and trail 1-0 at Swindon. Dominic Iorfa the second Miller to see red. Oldham are also down to nine men, they trail 1-0 at home against Crawley.

Leicester have been pegged back again by Stevenage, Tugra Turhan making it 2-2 at the King Power. At Stadium MK, Aaron Collins has four goals for the Dons who are 5-1 up against Doncaster.

Goal! Hull 2-2 Ipswich (Enciso 74)

That is classic Enciso, this boy loves a hit and this one from the edge of the box is arrowed into the corner and still rising as it hits the net. It was dogged work from the Ipswich man to keep it alive in the buildup.

Updated

Goal! Brentford 2-0 Nottingham Forest (Igor Thiago 76)

Brentford sucker punch Forest as Igor Thiago makes it 2-0 to end a swift counter. Stroke of fortune with the finish as it nicks off the defender to loop over Sels.

Updated

More goals in the Championship, West Brom now lead 3-1 at West Ham, Callum Styles has got his side’s third. Southampton lead QPR 3-1, the visitors pulling one back after Saints got their third.

Goal! Hull 2-1 Ipswich (McBurnie 68)

The Tigers trailed at the break but now lead, Ollie McBurnie firing in low a free-kick from the edge of the area.

Updated

Kamari Doyle has put Leicester back in front against Stevenage in League One and Salford have equalised at home against Exeter.

In the Championship, Swansea are now 4-0 up against Blackburn, Wolves are beating Cardiff 3-0 and Bolton have turned it around against Bristol City to lead 2-1.

Goal! Coventry 3-1 Sunderland (Le Fée 67, pen)

No mistake from Le Fée as he cuts the lead from the spot.

Updated

Penalty to Sunderland!

After a length VAR check Sunderland are awarded a penalty for handball, there was a moment of slapstick as the touchline screen froze while they were checking for offisde in the buildup.

Goal! Hull 1-1 Ipswich (Iroegbunam 58)

After missing a number of chances in the first half Ipswich have allowed Hull back into this one. it’s bizarre, Iroegbunam is allowed to keep going and going, unchallenged and eventually beats Walton with a low strike.

Updated

Brentford 1-0 Nottingham Forest

I mentioned Forest’s odd form pre-match. The Bees still lead this one, but neither side has had a shot on target.

Having had a second goal disallowed before half-time Southampton now have their 2-0 lead against QPR, Cameron Bragg has got it.

A fitba update from Simon McMahon (thanks, Simon): “Only two Scottish Premiership games today because of the League Cup semis this weekend. Kilmarnock currently lead 10-man St. Johnstone 2-1, while Motherwell v St Mirren is goalless. The first of those League Cup semi finals is a team time kick-off and features Rangers v crisis club one Aberdeen, whose fans have never really taken to manager Stephen Robinson. An Edinburgh derby tomorrow between Hearts and crisis club two Hibs will decide the other finalist.”

Goal! Coventry 3-0 Sunderland (Rudoni 52)

A huge slice of fortune in this but the Sky Blues are pulling away. It’s lovely buildup from Coventry to work it into the Sunderland half but Rudoni’s shot has not right to go in from there, it’s low and not particularly vicious until it takes a big deflection off of Omar Alderete to beat Roefs.

Updated

Great game at the London Stadium, it’s now 2-1 to West Brom, Jimmy-Jay Morgan has put the Baggies back in front.

Manchester City 0-1 Brighton

Big chance for Brighton for to go 2-0 up at the Etihad but De Cuyper has blazed over when found in acres of space in the City box. Will they pay for that?

Updated

Early goal in League One, Liam Kelly has put into his own net to give Luton a 2-0 lead at Peterborough.

Swansea have scored a quickfire double to take a 3-0 lead against Blackburn. The Swans are flying high in the Championship, sitting second just behind Boro.

Goal! Coventry 2-0 Sunderland (Awoniyi 37)

Awoniyi robs O’Nien in the Sunderland half and just goes at the heart of the Black Cats defence before finding the bottom corner with a bit of a scruffy finish, great goal though.

Updated

Jarrod Bowen has equalised for West Ham against the Baggies, the England international drives in from the right and hits a low shot at the near post which sneaks past O’Leary in the West Brom goal.

Updated

Goal! Bournemouth 1-0 Leeds (Evanilson 31)

Horror show from James Trafford, he gifts it to Justin Kluivert from a goal kick, allow the Dutchman to square for Evanilson for the easiest goal he will get all season.

Updated

Goal! Brentford 1-0 Nottingham Forest (Milenković 30 OG)

Dango Ouattara does really well on right and gets to the byline, his cross is deflected off Nikola Milenković and wrong-foots Mats Sels to give the home side the lead.

Updated

In League One, Wigan have come from 1-0 down to lead 2-1 against Bromley, while Stevenage have equalised against Leicester.

Goal! Hull 0-1 Ipswich (Florentino Luis 22)

Wow, that is some finish from Florentino Luis. The Ipswich midfielder is slipped in by Abdoul Ouattara and the Portuguese powers his shot into the roof of the net.

Goal! Coventry 1-0 Sunderland (Sakamoto 17)

Great strike from Sakamoto as the ball falls to him on the edge of the box and he sweeps it home with his left foot. Sunderland seemingly undone by one long ball upfield.

Updated

Deeper mire for Derby, Lisbie has his second for Millwall, 2-0 there. Elsewhere in the Championship, Southampton have taken the lead against QPR, Swansea are 1-0 up against Blackburn and Wolves have already struck twice without reply against Cardiff.

Updated

11min: VAR check on a goal for Dominic Calvert-Lewin at the Vitality, the Leeds bundled it in from close range but it’s come off his bicep. That’s not going to stand.

Goal! Manchester City 0-1 Brighton (Ayari 11)

Dunk pings the ball out to Gomez who sweeps in a low cross, it ricochets off De Cuyper and falls to Ayari, who can’t miss. Brighton’s third goal at the Etihad this week.

Updated

In League Two, Accrington are 1-0 up against Northampton, Walsall have taken the lead at Colchester, while Gillingham are in front Shrewsbury. Jili Buyabu has earned an early birth at the County Ground, do they have baths? Rotherham now facing an uphill battle against Swindon.

Millwall 1-0 Derby

The Rams are in deep trouble, with just one win so far this season in the Championship and now they have gone down early at the Den. Kyrell Lisbie with the opener.

Updated

A couple more League One goals to fill you in on, MK Dons have gone 1-0 up against Doncaster and Luton are a goal to the good on the road at Luton.

Leicester 1-0 Stevenage

Sammy Braybrooke has given the home side an early lead at the King Power. The Foxes are picking up their form after a shaky start to the season.

Peeeeeep!

We are underway in the 3pm kick-offs.

The teams are coming out and we are moments away from kick-off around the grounds.

Get ready for another week of agonising over the sorry state of Manchester United. The legends of old will rage, clips of a fuming Gary Neville will fly around social media, the airwaves will reverberate with complaints from angry supporters and by the time United play again there is every chance a new manager will be in the dugout.

There were echoes of Erik ten Hag’s final game in charge as the walls closed in on Michael Carrick at Stamford Bridge. United missed a series of golden chances when the scores were level, just as they did when Ten Hag lost to West Ham a day before his sacking two years ago, and Chelsea made the most of the reprieve after initially delivering a performance so bad it had you worrying for the nascent Xabi Alonso project.

Read Jacob’s rull report from Stamford Bridge:

It’s all over at Stamford Bridge, Lisandro Martínez earned a moronic red card as Manchester United failed to build on a positive first half to lose 2-0. Scott Murray has the reaction:

Nottingham Forest are a strange proposition. Lots of quality players but they’ve only won one Premier League game so far this season. They’ve only conceded 10 goals – an Oliver Glasner trademark is defensive organisation – but Liam Delap is yet to fire and today they face another well-organised defence in Brentford. Every chance Forest start November in the bottom three, a position which has typically cost the manager his job. Forest fans, what do you make of the season so far?

I am at the big one.

Amid a hectic day in the Premier League, I find myself sat at the AIG Stadium, the home of League Two leaders Salford City. There is not a cloud in the sky and it is unseasonably warm in Greater Manchester where the Ammies are aiming to secure an eighth straight league win. David Beckham and Gary Neville are part of the ownership and there is plenty of ambition to move up the leagues, despite having the fourth-lowest average attendance.

Former Ange Postecoglou assistant Peter Cklamovski is in charge of Salford and is redefining their style. They suffered a bumpy start, losing their first three games but they have found their way under the Australian coach and few would back against them winning the league come May.

This is one of the most pathetic episodes in Premier League history. We’re so over if clubs are taking legal action over some comments on a podcast, get a grip.

Preamble

A rare treat with five 3pm kick-offs in the Premier League this afternoon. There’s a Carabao Cup rematch at the Etihad as Brighton aim to get revenge for their defeat on penalties on Wednesday night. Bournemouth look to continue their good form against a resolute Leeds side, Brentford v Forest should be entertaining, there’s a basement battle between Coventry and Sunderland, while two promoted sides go at it with Ipswich on the road at Hull. In the Championship West Ham v West Brom will be worth keeping an eye on, my pick for League One is Mansfield v Notts County, and League Two leaders Salford welcome in-form Exeter to Moor Lane. I’ll be doing my best to keep you across all of it and first up is the team news, in about 15 minutes.
